Linksys SPA1001 VoIP Settings and Configuration Guide

Linksys SPA 1001
Inexpensive, easy to install and simple-to-use, the Linksys SPA-1001 VoIP adapter connects to your standard telephone and high-speed Internet enabling Internet phone service for your home.

STEP 1

You must first determine what IP address it received. To do this, you need to pick up the phone attached to the Line 1 jack and dial: **** (four asterisks)

then dial: 110 #

and you will be told the IP address of your device (e.g. 192.168.0.100)

STEP 2

Go to any browser equipped computer connected to the same router as the SPA1001 and enter the address: http://<IP ADDRESS>/ where <IP ADDRESS>/ is replaced by the address that was given to you in STEP 1.

STEP 3

Click on the "Admin Login" button near the top right side of the screen, then click on the "Line 1" tab.

STEP 6

Make Calls!

Problems? If you get one-way audio, or cannot get a dial tone or cannot make/receive calls with your VoIP device, you are probably behind firewall. Your router's firewall (also known as NAT) is blocking certain operations of the VoIP telephone adapter or some of the settings of the adapter are not entered correctly.

Fixing NAT/Firewall Issues

If you get one-way audio or calls fail to come in, you are probably behind NAT. Go back to step 2 above to log into the SPA1001. Select the "advanced" link in the top right corner and then click on "Link 1". In the "NAT Setting" block, change the 2 "no" values to "yes" and submit the changes:

Select the SIP menu and in the "NAT Support Parameters" block change 4 "no"s to "yes"s and submit the changes:

If the phone fails to work, please take the time to double check your configuration as above. If everything appears to be correct, and you still have internet access, then problem may still be your firewall, or there could be a network issue. The advanced user may want to try setting their SPA1001 in a "DMZ" zone on their router, or to forward ports from their router to the SPA1001. Or we can work with you to set up your SPA1001 directly connect to the internet and bypass your router to get rid of most problems.
