How to add a @lucketts.net email account to Outlook Express.
Step 1: Start Outlook Express, select "Tools" then "Accounts" from the menu bar.
Step 2: Select the tab for Mail accounts. Any account you have already set up will appear here. Select "Add" then select "Mail"
Step 3: The Wizard will ask you for the display name name for this account. Choose what you want other people to see in the FROM line next to your email address when they get your email. John Smith may wish to put "John Smith" there. Stevdororvi Kazolpopolous might be better off putting "Kaz" there.
Step 4: Enter your new email address. John Smith would put jsmith@lucketts.net if that is his email address.
Step 5: Your incoming mail server is a POP3 server and the names for the incoming and outgoing mail servers are both "mail.lucketts.net". Press "Next"
Step 6: Enter your user name as your account name. For "jsmith@lucketts.net" the user name/account name is "jsmith".
Step 7:Enter your password. You can change your password later online at our website. When you change it there, you will have to come back here and change it. Select "Remember Password" if your computer is secured to your satisfaction. This is not required. If you do not check it then you will have to type in your password at least once each time you open Outlook Express. Select "Next" and then "Finish"
Step 7a: If you want to send mail from anywhere on the internet and not just from withing our network, you have to set your Outgoing Mail Server to "My server requires authentication". It is usually a checkbox just after you enter the password. Step 8 (Optional): Go back to the Internet Accounts: Mail tab and find the account your just added.
It will probably be listed as "mail.lucketts.net". Highlight that account then press "Properties".
In the first text box, change "mail.lucketts.net" to a more meaningful name to identify this account,
such as "John's Account". If you want to use a name other than John, that's OK. Save your changes and
you're done.
Also Optional for advanced users: You can secure your pop3 mail if you wish. Under advanced settings, check the box under "Incoming Server"
that says: "this server requires a secure connection. The port should change to 995. Voila!... your inbound mail & password are now encrypted.
